Wow. Hi all, I see you've been busy on here. I'll never make it through it all so I gave up but I just wanted to say hi and ask everyone what I've been missing. Got our farm and fleet chick days order sheet so we have been trying to decide. I admit we're having problems with that but it seems like we are probably going to be adding some ducks this spring not sure what breeds probably Welsh Harlequins and/or Cayugas.

Intothebuff Our pipes froze and broke. I had eggs in both my incubator and hatcher. They are using big commercial dryers and dehumidifiers. Do my eggs have a chance of hatching? It is so dry in the house. They are still reading the right humidity, but no pipping on day 20. @Intothebuff update please!!

HATCHING/INCUBATION

Fire BCM couple dozen in there from our laying pen that will be mixed, hatching thurs-fri 1/15. other sets? Making bators too. Just cleared the hatcher of 22-23 dry babies. Lots of wet ones (about same amount) left in there and 7 or 8 more pipped. Looks like it's shaping up to be another 90%+ hatch again. A couple dozen BCM's and about 3 dozen out of our free range layer pen.

J&TRanch 1/12/16 12 self blue Cochin bantams (shipped) day 3 (going to candle today to see how many are viable).... And 18 eggs arriving in the mail tomorrow @J&Tranch My shipped self blue bantam Cochins are doing good. I had to throw out a stinker and a seeper

So out of those 10 remaining, 7 are developing nicely

They're on day 7. I ended up receiving 16 shipped from GA, they looked good considering the single digit temps- only 3 saddles and none cracked. They're on day 3 today, will candle Wednesday maybe.

Canadachickens @canadachickens 1/17 3 OE's out in the hatcher , one OE, bottom right, mal posed but still trying to zip, and the other 2 OE's pretty quiet.
The rest of the eggs are test batch from a new Roo, due later this week. Bunch of barnyard mix, just for the heck of it.
Venymae Rooster was shooting blanks. 5/7 clear and the other 2 are very questionable looking. Plus the two that are questionable are the ones that won't turn. I think I'm going to try and return this Brinsea. It's just not worth the $$. It holds temp great, and looks awesome,but it's got to be perfect for how much it costs and it's not doing it for me. @venymae
Jessimom 9 I put into lock down....it's day 22. 3 have hatched in the last 5 hours, 1 more is pipped. I have 12 Salmon Faverolle eggs and 11 Cochin eggs that were shipped 3000 miles... I received some shipped eggs. About half have saddled air cells. Half have nice air cells.9 silkies in lock down, 6 have hatched, 3 still holding. I have 18 silkies set to hatch on the 22nd. I added the 23 shipped eggs to the 'bator and turned off the auto turner. I will manually tilt the silkies for the next day or so, then turn the auto turner back on
gotro17 Shellee lavender Orpington shipped egg issue,Papa's Poultry. Jeff- you rocked it! Not one crack! Thank you!!! We have Bielefelders, Crested CL, BBs Marans and Mottled Lavender Orpingtons, along with some surprises from the rainbow pen! Can't wait!!!5 Marans eggs were cracked

. However, all frizzles and lavender Orpingtons were intact. Vital Farms eggs I got at Target, along with some silkies from our new friend from down the road, @Jessimom ... We are setting tomorrow for a Feb. 6th hatch day.

JennyBchickadee found 1 egg that i figured mudt have been la8d on top of the broody about a week or so after she started sitting? Well, its hatching right now!! I have an incubator from the 50s that is not very even tempered so i figured it wouldnt hatch but its halfway zipped....looks like I may end up with ONE pet chick....oh man, here we go again. dolfi 6 on lock down. Running a test run before my eggs arrive in two weeks. Looks like I might have 100% hatch.I have 4 visible external pips, may have more that I can't see. I have only 19 eggs in there (all my ees were infertile, remember?

) so I need at least 16 babies!! Fingers crossed!!

Mirajane 10 white leghorn eggs, as I've said, my dad will only eat white eggs, so I bought some white eggs for him, so I can hatch them and raise them for him. They were shipped, 5 are good, 5 have detached air cells. Sat out for a full day before being put in incubator. Also put in 11 of our eggs from...

The most expensive coffee in the world is made out of kitty poop, good things only come to those who wait if they work like crazy while they are waiting, no big lottery winners here, CH caught a 60 lb blue cat all by himself behind his house and kwhites says to sell it to a resturant, country lovin's feed store has CHICKS, (she only got two...) fire370 has a pip, k is locking his doors against a turken invasion, sally has unleashed a whole pile of happy painter pics, JT's average day includes chicks in the bathtub, 2 year old running around shedding clothing, boys slinging insults at one another, and a 4 year old princess barking orders at everyone, CH lives right next door to the "Duck Dynasty" crew, Sally is googling everything for us, kwhites likes Old Bay on cats (preferably 60 pound blue ones!) but he would not recommend it on vanilla ice cream, (probably only tasted good with chocolate...) Chaos is not commenting on salad, and will only smile and nod whenever dearest sally the sleeping elephant awakes and speaks, chaos needs mommom sally's boot camp, fried baloney is only good if you are starving, there is a bowl full of helpful monkeys somwhere in here, kwhites has been laughing for 3 days straight now, and Ur can relate to a scared goldfish!

Looks like I have a new layer in my tiny flock. I found my RSL pullet in a nesting box earlier, and when I checked later, I found an egg. The other (two) eggs were in a separate nest, and it's half the size of what I'm used to getting, so I know it came from the young one...
