Okay, so too pink probably means too warm? So far it's eating and pooping what I think is normal, but it's maybe a little lethargic.

I would think lethargy in a pigeon hatchling is hard for a novice keeper to discern. After all, they are usually raised by parents, am I correct?

Once their eyes open it's easier for me to judge how lethargic they are, but at 24 hours, it's hard! Novice I am, have only had a few this young. I've searched the web and haven't found much on hand raising them.

@Sally Sunshine, I read the article, but am a little confused... The author says that they use Tektrol to clean the eggs, and doing that will kill mycoplasma, but then the talk about giving the eggs an antibiotic bath. I guess I need to learn more about the disease.

exactly!!! I dont get it or see anything backing up the info. Is tylan water soluble?

I was wondering, since oz, rbaker and I think you were involved with the wormer research in the diary thread a few years ago on this subject.... how do we find info on Teratogenic effects with antibiotic use in poultry?

Also if used on the egg would this come into play with a dip solution anyways?

CH please dont start this, I cant go tell them what to do with your eggs. Your gonna drive yourself and me batty in the next few days if you start now! DONT even look until Thursday afternoon! Our truck only leaves the post office at 430-5 pm.... Its not a big town, I am not near any large towns! So you will have to have patience and stop checking on them, or just dont post about them!

One thing you cant do is keep fretting about something you have no control over!!!!!

Fill your time up with something constructive that can help educate yourself or benefit someone else!

I find the the post office doesn't always SCAN the packages. I had one package show that it arrived at the originating post office, and it wasn't updated again until it arrived at my local PO.

Don't stress!!!
