I was born just outside of Boston.
Father is PA Dutch, mother has WV accent.
Moved to north Jersey. Had to go to speech classes in school. The teachers were from Brooklyn.
Spent entire summer's surrounded by people from England Ireland and Scotland
Was engaged to a Georgia boy that insisted I learn to speak with his accent (he died).
I can slip into an accent just by talking to someone with one.
