WEAK CHICKS, Spraddle legs, ODD legs, ETC.....

There are options of taping chicks legs together, HOWEVER, those are horrible and other chicks pick on them, they are non stop chirping and falling over, pain in the butt period....

If you can put them in a cup that forces the feet into position under them it can work a lot quicker and less stressful for the chicks. Thanks to a tip from BYC member Blarney love that chick! Just dont overheat them in the cup, take them out to feed and water them and give them some exercise and see how they are doing!

Homemade Electrolyte Recipe for weak/ill chicks
2 C. Water
2 TBL. Brown Sugar, honey or molasses
1/2 tsp Salt
1/2 tsp. Baking Soda
Mix until all dry ingredients dissolve & Keep refrigerated
You could also use electrolyte drinks Gatorade or Pedialyte, or
3 drops of POLYVISOL (liquid childrens A-B-D vitamins)
Slowly drip along inner edge of lower beak.

I really need to stop bidding on eggs... Somehow, NO ONE ELSE will bid on the ones I've bid on, so I guess I'll get lots of practice this month. The Marans, Lakenvelder, and now Swedish Flower Hens...

The LV's trip here are a story and a half, made me so mad at the postal service. Arrived at my post office 4 days after it was supposed to. And the trip to chicago a couple of times... And by the time they got here, 3 eggs were smashed, 2 cracked beyond repair. Down to 7 already and just put them in the bator on Saturday. Frustrating.

No there showing.i dont have the stuff to make it i will get my mom to get Gatorade,what do i do with the gatorade.I didnt have a cup are enything i trying a 2 inch clay pot but his leggs wont stay straight they stay tucked against his body.

Oh no, dont clean. I'm not! Lol I processed an over-aggressive roo today. Not fun, but had to be done.

OMG that reminds me.... we forgot to lock up and did an hour after dark and hubs runs back in after lock up huffing and puffing and says "we.... huff hufff.......something got two chickens! one in coop 3 run and one in coop 2 run!!!! hufff pufffff" ME..... I had a heartattack, jumped up and said, "well did you make sure that its not still in the coops when you locked them up?" HUBS "no. why would I their dead and they have no feathers, they are down to just the bones already outside in the runs!!! ME: "NOT the dead chickens dork the ...... LIGHTBULB......oh BLEEP......... .......................................................................................................earlier...........................................that day........................... I had kiddo run two leftover meatie carcasses out in two of the runs dang those vicious boogers pecked them clean, I better watch they will EVOLVE
