@chicken hawk 33

You get the award for the most anticipated hatch! You managed to get quite the following (including me!) Congrats!

Does anyone know if males grow faster than females? Or does that change per breed

Congrats on your hatch.
It changes per breed. If you have a fast feathering breed crossed with a slow feathering breed (there are more specifics to this) then you can tell females from males because females will feather faster. Like I said, there are specific details to consider and it isn't 100%.

Thank you,

I am dealing with quite the mix so I doubt the sex markers are widely known for this since there hybrids, a RIR Rooster and a ISA Brown. I got 4 brown/red chicks and 3 blondish with a couple markings. There is one who is almost double the size of the rest both in wing feathers and weight, he seems to stand tall but it's only 2 weeks in.
When do you think I will be able to tell 100% male / female? < 8 weeks < ?

Is there any way you can add a bit of water w/o removing the lid, like thru a vent plug hole using a length of surgicle/aquarium tubing?

They hatched Nov. 21st. Out of nine eggs, seven successful chicks!

Bones are showing?? I hope you mean swelling or something else?

Edit to say I don't hope they are swelling... I just mean I hope you meant something other than "showing"
