Thanks anyway, but the original post I put up here was asking if anyone knew of a source for heritage eggs since I asked on the heritage site and they were not helpful being horrified about mixing strains and imperfections. They seemed to not be able to understand that I am just raising backyard/pasture chickens and I have several birds that have OK tyor and color that could be improved by an infusion of good blood. Like when I started in Peruvian horses. I got the best mares I could, bred to the best stallion I could afford, kept only the best fillies and repeated the process.@daxigait
The RIR I can get a hold of are just from Hatchery Birds, Ideal Poultry.
If'n ya want some let me know, but ya cant expect the darkest colors or the most striking bricks

I understand why breeders of heritage RIR are reluctant to allow someone to cross strains. Some breeders spend many years, often decades, breeding the best SOP birds. This is most times accomplished by very strict line breeding, and only when absolutely necessary, will they ever cross strains. Adding fresh blood can be a double-edged sword... it can replace bad genes and give a higher quality of bird... or it can bring out bad genes that can take 5 or more years to remove from the offspring. If I worked decades to perfect my line, I would want the line continued through the people I sold my birds to. Of course, a dollar is a dollar when it comes to selling chickens, but with true breeders of heritage birds, it's often more about pride than money. Thanks anyway, but the original post I put up here was asking if anyone knew of a source for heritage eggs since I asked on the heritage site and they were not helpful being horrified about mixing strains and imperfections. @Sally Sunshine . The vet thinkscI was right that it is a mycoplasma. She took a blood sample from my sick roo. And she told me to put pour on or motor oil on the lame hens foot. Go figure.
