@urr was trying to figure out what you were doing, an aquirum (how ever you spell it)?
Saltwater aquarium... just a little hobby I decided to try several years ago... just to see if I could pull it off. Chickens are a breeze compared to all the stuff I had to learn to be successful at saltwater.

Ummmmm.... Yeah, well, I've been knitting for about 35 years (I'm 45 years old). I also weave, do sprang, blackwork, naalbinding, and am learning tatting. But NO crochet!!!!! NEVER!!!!!

I've heard of people who won't buy fresh eggs, store eggs better 'cause they're pasteurized.

People are just cray-cray...

We wouldn't have goats but my wife likes them. So we got em. They are funny and make me smile. Full of antics.

I NEED GOATS!!!!!!!

I'm getting ready to head into town for a haircut appt. Once a month I get it done whether it needs it or not and it costs me 5 dozen eggs.

I love having long straight hair. I get it cut once every two years, donate to Lock for Love, and then let it grow out until my next haircut two years later.

I got milk crates full of old cassettes...hundreds of them all 60's through 80's rock.....stacks of vinyl too.

I've got mix tapes from the early 90s on cassette (my old beater Toyota SUV has a tape deck). They've been in my car (in a compartment) through 6 or 7 South Texas summers. They still play - love 'em!!!
You ever use the old record players that had the adapters that slid down over the spindle so you could play 45's ?

Yup. Beach Boys, Good Vibrations. But I also had Stevie Wonder's Songs in the Key of Life and Saturday Night Fever on 8 track. I was musically precocious...
Yall count the chips in the bag fore ya eat em too?

I separate my Skittles by color... I have CDO - it's OCD, but the letters are in the correct alphabetical order.

Just had a hawk attack I think, saw a hawk fly by 4 feet off the ground over my chickens, now I am missing one. I see no feathers and no blood, did not see her in the Hawks talons when he flew by. Do you think he or a mate got her or is she just hiding??
Yikes!

No feathers...probably in cover, hiding

+1 . Let us know if she shows up.

What else could go wrong for you in 30 hours? You think you left it open, or did it have help?

All the doors to my coops are closed with COMBINATION locks. Too many stories about clever raccoons.

Nice setup. Son had saltwater for a few years...switched back to fresh. I had Angels for a bunch of years myself
He's lucky... I'm hooked and can never go back to freshwater. There are many more just like me out there. They blend in with the crowds, and no one ever knows the evil secret they are hiding...

wish I could find the pictures of the hydroponics I tried a few years back, simple but worked, had to prove to me that I could do it. neighbors think I have to much time on my hands, they may be right,

Sally was it here or EHAL that someone who hatched from pullet eggs said they lost egg size over time?

PULLET EGGS??? post #41984 UNDER CONSTRUCTION

Good evening everyone! Welcome back Ur!
I won't comment on my 200 post read back since lunch today since Bubbles has graciously agreed to restart the recaps, but I will weigh in on the TP debate.
If you google the original patent for TP, the original patent owner recommended over the top, so as to keep the paper away from the walls and any bugs, germs or viruses that may be present in th outhouse facility would be less likely to transfer to the paper.
I tried to post the link, but technology eludes me this evening.
Just google ' toilet paper patent' it is from the late 1800's.

This hen has laid her ninth new egg after the chicks shown have been weaned and has now gone broody again. The chicks in the picture are just over five weeks of age. While you can't make a hen go broody, you can provide the right stimulus that encourages broodiness.

evening all,

Finally home, settled, and fed (over easy eggs pulled from the nest this evening, over homemade sourdough toast - Yum! Oh, and wine, of course!)/ All caught up (for about 30 seconds, I'm sure). Shipped egg update in a separate post, but first:

Before I say anything else - TOILET PAPER - OVER IS THE RIGHT WAY. The other way is just wrong. End of story.
