You have to be kidding me! I spent $40 buying two canning books from Amazon. A good description was not given, and the cover of the book showed jars.
99% of that book is using those sealing bags!! I understand what they are, but I have yet to see them sold anywhere. It also sounds expensive to start it up. If I understand correctly, you need a special sealer. Correct?
Regardless, my book is unused, and the other one was rejected by the person I bought it for.
we do both here my wife cans allot...I use the vacuum sealer for meats and such....they both are great ways to preserve food.

Good Night Everyone!

I realized belatedly that you were not talking about what I thought you were talking about. I have a vacuum sealer as well.
You know those thick vacuum sealed foil bags that tuna sometimes comes in? You can buy those ... Somewhere.

The seal meal machine if that's what it's called wasn't too much. Kohls has them on sale from time to time.if you get the 30% off coupon it's really affordable. The bags are costly but they can be found on sale as well. The real trick to getting the bag to seal is keeping everything really dry or in the case of sauces frozen. Spices can be added as well. Trick to not overcooking is to cook really slow until it reaches 165* then pull from heat set for a bit and walla it's done spiced or not still very good

Hey, if Benny can post pictures of stuff he's made...

Thanks - didn't know if you had tried that CO2 thing.
Good night.....this cheese looks REALLY good. Never thought to about coating cheese in black pepper, but many other things are good that way, why not cheese?
It's STRONG. Can only eat a bit at a time. Might be a while before I make more because I have a decent amount now... Actually helped with the drying during aging.

Goat cheese can be coated in black pepper as well (at least by me!).

OK, really going to bed now (I keep saying that!!!!!)

Edit to add: Here's the recipe for the Belper Knolle. If you sell it, call it something else - sounds like some Swiss guy is gonna patent the name for commercial use...
