It's really just preference.

I feel its safer for shipped eggs.

mine are not shipped but I was debating on what to do at lockdown.

1. get styrofoam cartons or use ones you already have
2. cut dime sized holes in the bottom of each egg holding section of the carton if they aren't there already.
3. put shipped eggs aircell up in carton on lockdown day
4. don't open the bator again

Have yer pops cut out the bottom of each egg cup in the carton

for non shipped egg you just lay them horizontal with the lower point of the aircell facing up
