Not much news... (which is great) LG is nice and steady. I want so bad to candle and see LIFE, but I am waiting for day 7...

I want to throw eggs in the bator so badly, but I can't!

I have to fix the bator again. This time it's a light bulb burn.

Once it's fixed I'll only be using it as a hatcher. Blu has already agreed that I can have a new bator after all the crap this one's been through.

Good morning y'all. My Janoel8-48 temperature keeps spiking up to 102+. It's the older model one. My new model one holds temperature great. Does anyone have any ideas of why it keeps spiking and how to fix it? The lid doesn't lay perfectly flat, but I have it taped down, and I would think that would cause it to drop, not spike.

Wonder if it can be recalibrated.
Maybe the thermistor is bad in a certain range

Nevermind it's not as bad as I thought it was. The temperature isn't holding perfectly steady, but it's not going that high. The thermometer I had inside was off.

Nvm then

I would see if it can be recalibrated

Sorry i didnt update sooner. My brain doesnt function that early. Woke the hubby up and he put a converter on my car and we where able to plug it in there. Dont know how long it was without power though. It was 85* when my son woke us up at 2:30.

My update:
- 104 chicks total hatched last weekend. Put 101 eggs into lockdown for this weekend.
- changed out one heating element in the newly built cabinet incubator (trying a PTC heater for improved safety)
- ordered a new Dickey incubator for a hatcher
