Sometimes mature hens will crow, and some will mount hens, but it's usually a temporary behavior.

I like this idea. I was going to use plastic shoeboxes in my new coop because we're a wet area and had troubles with mites before. Most folk here use fruit crates in their coops
New update: The Muscovy that was pipped died. Here's the eggtopsy. It was filled with yellow sticky liquid. That means that the humidity was too high doesn't it? I can't remember if that means too high or too low. I'm not a happy camper right now. None of the others show movement.

I'd think the only way that could happen would be if the hen was predisposed to AC/DCI have a question ........has any one here ever heard of a HEN being able to crow ? I ask this because my hubby is trying to convince that some hens can crow , now idk if he is just having wishful thinking that one if is crowing seramas are really a hen or if he is pulling my leg

I like these, since they are EASY to pull out and wash when they get dirty. We tilt them back slightly to keep the eggs in the bucket. The wood at the top is normally tilted up to keep them from jumping on top. It pisses off the egg layers when someone is walking on top of them. We take that off to pull out the buckets.I like this idea. I was going to use plastic shoeboxes in my new coop because we're a wet area and had troubles with mites before.
