Quick update here....@Sally Sunshine

The original two surviving Serama eggs from the shipped mushy mess have bit the dust. From the newer shipped mess there are two still developing. They do have horrible saddle cells, so not a lot of hope for them either.

My purple Guineas have just started laying and people are wanting chicks, so.....Pulling out the Mind Reading Bator this weekend!

I hope they will make it!
Also whats the Mind Reading Bator?

I was trying to be quick and not disturb them too much, so the air cell lines are dotted. Most air cells were solid with a couple wiggly but not detached ones. I'll reassess on Day 5. I'm happy so far.

So if anyone on knows anything about the hovabator genises i was wondering if you could maybe answer some questions?
I have a 1588. I had two, but the one started messing up and wouldn't hold a temp above 99.0 even cranked up to 103 and ruined a Serama hatch so I chunked it. They're usually pretty good incubators though.

Thats actually the model im getting!
I was just wondering how hard it is to keep the moisture right?

Hello, I've got my first batch of eggs in the incubator now. 12 Buff orpington eggs. They are on day 2, I opened the lid to put in my new Hygrometer/thermometer along with my glass thermometer. How long does it take for temp to rise back up?
It should start rising pretty quickly; how long it takes to regain the set temp depends, in part, on how long the lid was off. I'd think everything should be back to normal in 15-20 min., anyway.
