Alright but what if i have them in an egg carton? Would they be fine or should i lay them on the floor so they can touch easier?

It was a very frustrating evening, as I discovered four lifeless horses that had drowned. I ended up dcapitating them. Kinda gross, but I overthink things.
They are in a pile for now, I will deal with them tomorrow morning.
