It was a very frustrating evening, as I discovered four lifeless horses that had drowned. I ended up dcapitating them. Kinda gross, but I overthink things.
They are in a pile for now, I will deal with them tomorrow morning.

did you candle and look for internals? what did air cells look at day 18? sure you didnt calculate dates wrong? like ummmm meeee

I use a hatchabatch or some such app. I know it's the right date unfortunately. I did candle, but I just check for development overall, I've never seen an internal pip. Wouldn't even know what to look for. Air cells looked wonky on 6, but the rest looked great. I will float test them tonight, but again, I don't understand that either...

Float test...I believe all of these are full term. They might be dead or they might be late. I'm betting on dead. The float test will show them low floating...which shows viable egg whether its dead or alive. I don't see any movement or pips. I'm going to just open a few up and see what they look like.

after day 10 unplug both vents for proper ventilation.

I pulled the vent plugs out when I brought it home and never put them back in. I'm not even sure where they are.....

its a matter of preference, i never hatched upright so I cant tell you if my hatch window is closer than doing so upright, but from studies it shown they have a closer hatch window, yes....  again I always lay down for hatch, I never had one upright.
