I have never bought eggs. How much do they go for... My set right now is just from my backyard.

It depends on breed and breeder. I've seen them anywhere from $6 to $200 a dozen.

...it's so quiet tonight...my popper still has not zipped. No other pips so far. Everyone is quiet, no movement, no sounds. But my chicks never seem to cheep, they just suddenly appear!

That's how this last hatch. It was the strangest thing! No peeps inside until that night, then pipped, then zipped. Then, once they hatched, they cried, but not for long. I've never had such a quiet hatch.

Im on day 11. Me and the boys make a Styrofoam incubator that would make most of you cringe. LOL No thermostat. No fan.Lots of holtes and duct tape. We shall see what happens in another 10 days.
