welcome @PacMan1582just made my incubator, using a hot water tank thermostat in an ice chest. upon initial startup the thermostat shuts off at 99, but after it comes on the second time the temp will hit 102, then go back down to 99. the temp mostly stays on 99 and doesn't go below that, I just get those random 102 spikes from time to time. will a closed jar full of water help stabilize this? What are your suggestions?
there are tips to drill out the thermostat and where to place it. A hot water heater reads RADIANT heat, so it needs to be extremely close to the heat source be it lights or other.

I'm at work, but I'm so antsy about my eggs in lockdown - completely fidgety, tapping foot, want to be at home to watch over them! I'm worried about the eggs with the small-looking air cells (though I realize I can't do anything at this point).
I have a bunch of meetings, and later a dental appointment, but I really want to be at home to stare at the 'bator. Not do anything, just stare at it.
I'm losing my mind - someone talk me off the ledge, folks!!!!![]()
