Thanks! Helps to have the second opinion - I'll sleep better now. I didn't empty it - it still have about an inch of water in it (with sponges). I just put some shelf liner over the top so they wouldn't be able to tip in head first and drown.
I have a few that have pipped in the wrong position, no activity in some of these for at least 8 hours. I'm going to try to see if I can stay home from work tomorrow in case they need help. (As it is I don't feel well, so would be worthless there anyhow...)

Hey everyone sorry haven't had time to get on and post for a couple of days but heres an update on the 23 eggs I put in the incubator on Feb. 3rd
Don't die laughing first time for everything, didn't get candled at all until almost day 7 lol. Not sure what is going on but yesterday temp dropped to 93 and had to put incubator up to 100 just to get it to 95. Humidity is running 27-34 consistently
Three are out now. Romping around as expected with occasional power naps. Normally that wouldn't be an issue. But in the middle of the third zipping (with most of the others already pipped), this daggum incubator started dropping the humidity again (thank goodness I was there to see it). Ambient humidity is 32%. The sponges that I had put in there earlier in the custard cup were dry. So, having no other choice, I opened it quickly to add more water to the custard cup/sponges. Unfortunately, because I was rushing to get it done quickly, I poured more than I intended, and now there is about an inch or so of water in that cup along with the sponge pieces. Placed steaming water in bowls near vents (not sure that matters/helps). Here's a photo. There's about an inch of water in that cup.
Last of the three came out at 10pm, all drying nicely. The problem is that they are very agile and rambunctious (as expected), and I was afraid one would fall into the water and drown. So I kept watching them. But I am so tired that I am about to fall over - I think that even if I wanted to stay up to watch over them, I couldn't. Though NOT ideal, I ended up reopening the top very quickly to slip some nubby shelf liner over the cup to prevent immersion if one fell in. Humidity didn't drop too badly, I was quick. I am worried about the humidity levels generally - hovering at 64 currently. (Set at 70). Making funny noises. I wish I had a humidity alarm.
I really need to go to bed - quite literally falling over. I hope that they do ok humidity wise overnight. Not sure what else I can do (for this hatch, at least). Very frustrated about this.
Leaving the three little ones in there overnight (hatched at 8:15pm, 9:30pm, and 10pm; currently 11:30pm here). I figured it would be ok to wait to move them to the brooder in the morning. I think I'm doing the right thing, but I'm so tired right now I may not be thinking straight, so would appreciate advice/input. I'll be up for another 20 minutes checking back, just in case anyone's still up.
@Sally Sunshine or @ anyone else...
Haha... ;-) yip... I was stationed at Ft Stewart, bought me a motorcycle to save on fuel.. road it every day.. we had some cold ones and even some slick stuff... wasn't too bad.. my then wife needed the truck.. Btw, I saw the cooler Bator you and your husband built... awesome.. How is your hatch rate? I'm building one or buying a sportman. .I hate killing my chicks in this little giant. I have total almost $200 when you consider turner, fan, thermostat, humidor ect.. dismal hatch rate... I saw the 100% hate rate on the sportsman this morning. .. they don't sell them at your local stores though or I think I would have brought one home...
An update on my first egg seething day 11:
6 of the 8 are showing an embryo mouviment and good veins!
2 Inthink are not but I dont give up yet!
Finely brought the total weight loss in the saffe boundry of 11%-13% afther manipulating the humidity!
