I should also add, WRT the STC-1000's. that most are Celsius only. That's not too bad for some of us, but there are definitely units with F displays in the same price range. I have 1 of each and rarely look at the display anymore.

Also, a critical part is placement of the sensor. You want it close to the eggs obviously, but free in the air because it needs to measure the air temp. Thermometers are sometime put into "water wigglers" and such to measure the inside the eggs temps more accurately, but that will result in wild swings of air temps if you put the thermostat sensor in a place where it's measuring something besides the open air.

Sometimes it's a wonder what a nap can do for a little one. Why would those little birds be happy about having a gator in the nest with them?

Trade the platypus eggs for penguin eggs, then trade the penguin eggs for HRIR eggs

Awesome! Now you definitely have to leave that bator closed. Even if the chick is the first out and is knocking the other eggs around!

you don't want shrink wrapped chicks.

Get a book to read, or go for a walk about if you need to, but leave the bator closed. Your chicks will thank you for it.

Thanks for the info. I will check each egg when I set them. I am setting Lav Marans and Lav Ops tonight. I am still on the lookout tho for some Lav Ameraucanas...
