Just for curiosity's sake, I'm going to do the same experiment the next time around, after my BCM has had the chance to darken the color of my RSL eggs, unless one of the girls decides to go broody.

Agreed. IMO, vent plugs should be thrown away. Never saw a hen putting a plug in her vent.

Yesterday was day 14 candled and 1 of the questionable was still developing the other definite early quitter thew it out still have 7 going strong out of the fertile dozen trader Joe eggs

IDK I have a 3000 lumens get a good one, see the suggested candlers in the notes section. There is nothing about broken yolks, are you sure they are not breaking when you open them

Thought I would share this pic of my Java peahen (my avatar is her as a chick). She was the sweetest and most beautiful creature I have ever had.
It was devastating when she succumbed to the neighbour's dog last year. I will treasure her memory for ever.

I'll have to check with Blu when he get's home, but I use his flashlight and I think it alternates between 250 and 350 or 400. Blue eggs didn't stand a chance against it.
