I had never heard the term keel before.
The main coop is down to 11 hens and two roosters. It may be the Lavender roo. He sits there a lot, and when the vet came to draw blood I noticed that he had lost a bunch of weight, but I chalked it up to him having been so sick. He presented first and is still not fully normal.

Keel as in the bottom rib centerline on a boat or the bird's equivalent of a breastbone. All birds but ratites have a long bony extension of the sternum that serves to stabilize the bird in flight. https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Keel_(bird_anatomy)
If the bone is prominent, it usually means that the breast muscles are underdeveloped and is sometimes found in birds with excess internal parasites.

nope he doesn't. But did just call and say his girlfriend I'll meet me there to help. I just hope that he moved the furniture out.

This is not chicken related but I gotta post somewhere. In August I redecorated my niece's bedroom for her 7th birthday. (My brother is a single dad, mom Not in picture at all). Well last night he called and said his girlfriend and her son are moving in so I need to go take down everything that I just did and turn the bedroom into a gender neutral kids room. Oh and did I mention that he wants it done today

And will you be summondsed back to re do the room again when he breaks up with his GF?

This is going to undermine his own daughter's confidence in him, - not only is this strange family taking over her daddy, personal gifts to her are being destroyed for no good reason in the process. Poor kid. .

I wonder if when she hits 13 she will have any respect left for him

I certainly get, if the children are sharing a room, wanting a more gender neutral décor. However, that doesn't put the onus on the OP. The onus is on the dad that decided to move the girlfriend and son into the home that apparently doesn't have enough space for two unrelated children of opposite sexes to have their own space.

The girl's mother isn't in the picture and now the dad isn't putting his daughter's interests before his own.

I miss my peas
Here is DD a couple of years ago with her buddy "peaky". She is now 18 and just started vet school in the UK. Who would have thought that she would become a vet!!!

How could your darling daughter not become a vet?
