Keel as in the bottom rib centerline on a boat or the bird's equivalent of a breastbone. All birds but ratites have a long bony extension of the sternum that serves to stabilize the bird in flight. https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Keel_(bird_anatomy)I had never heard the term keel before.
The main coop is down to 11 hens and two roosters. It may be the Lavender roo. He sits there a lot, and when the vet came to draw blood I noticed that he had lost a bunch of weight, but I chalked it up to him having been so sick. He presented first and is still not fully normal.
If the bone is prominent, it usually means that the breast muscles are underdeveloped and is sometimes found in birds with excess internal parasites.
nope he doesn't. But did just call and say his girlfriend I'll meet me there to help. I just hope that he moved the furniture out.
I may be reading too much into it but this is the way I view it.
