Good morning, all!
I screwed up quoting, so I will try to do this from memory:
@daxigait
- yeah, I had an ankle injury like that, torn ligaments, super technicolor. Took a while to heal, but totally fine now. I'd love to say it happened while I was saving a baby in a stroller form an oncoming 18 wheeler... but I slipped in the parking lot.:/

Thanks for the several of you who gave input on the hanging waterer. It's too hot here to rely entirely on nipple waterers in the summer (at least that makes me nervous - so I always like to have a second water source).
Whoever it was who said that they were timing their next hatch to occur DURING work, so that it would happen on its own (and less risk of wanting to do something) - I think you're on to something. I may try that once I get my temps and humidity corrected (and don't have all the malpos).
Shellee (sp?) thank you for sharing the wonderful story about your father.
@Sally Sunshine
, I'm glad you're feeling better.
Benny, now I'm hungry for spaghetti and meatballs!!! But it's 10AM!!!
Thanks for the get well wishes for my foot - it truly is mostly inconvenient/irritating, rather than severely painful, and I was just grumping about it. I rested a lot yesterday, but had chicken chores this morning that HAD to be done. I have the day off, and so I really need to take the opportunity today to get the lumber for the growout pens/tractors that I will be building. Once the lumber's here, I can do the sanding sitting down. While one will be a growout pen (so I have a couple weeks), one needs to be finished ASAP because I have some Speckled Sussex at 17 weeks who are in a little coop that is now too small for them (they roam in a paddock all day to mitigate this, but LOVE to escape!). They need a forever home and a boyfriend - Tank the Naked Neck (who stays in his paddock all day long) now escapes to roost on top of their coop (to watch over them) EVERY SINGLE NIGHT now. So there's some urgency to get this done.
Sourdough bread for the week is on second rise. Once done, I'll go on my lumber run. I also have to set up the NN paddock today. I have the egg eater in a crate in the NN coop for the day while I try to nail down who's laying what (thin-shelled-wise), running out to check nest boxes frequently (in case any of the others get bad ideas). So much to do...
Happy happy day, all!
