Thanks much.  I've done a little research on the Souix, particularly the Lakota. I've got just enough Indian blood, way back, to be really po'd at the treatment the Indian nations received at the hands of the whites. To my way of thinking, Custer was a glory hound who got exactly what he deserved. Now I'll have to do some research on the Metis.

Lots of mistreatment over the years, unfortunately it has been my personal experience that all of the 'new breed' of native leaders want to be repaid over and over and over again for the deeds of the past.
I am proud to count myself amongst the Metis, and I am proud of my ancestors, it is my peers these days that are always looking for a hand out, instead of a hand up, that make me ashamed.
I agree that my ancestors were horribly mistreated, but my grandparents and my parents always taught me that you work hard, and you can overcome any obstacle, you don't wait for someone else to hand it to you because of past wrongs

My eggs the broody abandoned were COLD when I found em

They are VERY lively right now in the bator.

Youse be fine! :hugs

Thanks for the encouragement!

Someone needs to invent a child-proof incubator!

Awesome!!  Good luck with the hatch!!

I hope everyone else that has set chickens has a great hatch as well!!!
at least a month do your birds first and wash don't use the same clothes or shoes from him to your birds. Some people even take one bird at the end of quarantine and put it with the other to see if anything happens. As someone who did not keep me separate enough, and did not do a test bird and now has a whole flock with mycoplasma synoviae it is crucial.
