I've never weighed either. I marked air cells, but never used them to gauge humidity. I always followed the formula: 30% for 18 days, then 65%. Barnyard chicks always popped, but the sussex were always malpo or DIS. wish I could hatch them again to see what the problem actually was. Probably low humidity, because the egg shells always seemed a bit porous/thin. I always had a few stinkers.

Anyway, with the honas I wanted to be a little more scientific. Not a big deal. I think the AC look pretty good despite weight loss.
they look fine!!

I thought she meant 10% less than the current humidity for cells that were borderline too small.
ahhhhhh I should have kept reading then I would have got that.

@campingshaws did the lady with the attacked hen disappear?
@Sally Sunshine Hi, glad you are feeling better. Do you know if Dick is npip? MO law requires that for out of state eggs or testing.
She must've gone somewhere else for help. I suggested taking close-ups & posting them here. Also reminded her that chicken eggs hatch in 21 days, give or take; she was thinking 28

HELP HELP, my goose egg is probably dead now.I,just got back from fishing and temp was 104.7,and I don't know how long for.I took top of bator so temp would drop.

Quote: I would love if you could show more details as you go along! and do you check chicks hocks etc after hatch? and the empty shells? Red Sexlink I believe is what your incubating? from a young flock? Please mark them and if you can show your weights and how you adjusted per weigh in and how you figured out what to do? dont know if that makes sense but its for everyone to understand. Also how old the eggs were and I would assume you took individual weights on some of the smaller and larger or not?

thank you, I DO NOT THINK dick is NPIP however he shows so I know he has to get his birds tested, again call and talk to him or shoot him a message to be certain

Hi people.....just popping on to say howdy....I will be on later...I made a few decisions I want to ask about.
But I'm too busy at the moment to stay....hope all you are great today!
I have a friend on another thread who's having some worried about her health...so all who are healthy today be thankful......because it's really the only thing that matters....talk later......Phil

Well, sorry, but the pip is happening right through your marking...so if 2 eggs hatch, you won't know which 2...maybe its just my anal way of keeping track of 100 eggs in the bator.
oh gotcha. That was to show my husband who was laying what when I was collecting. I only have the one blue egg so I am not worried about that.
