I'm having a somewhat delayed hatch - I had only one single pip at the end of Day 21 (and I was worried, too!). I'm at the end of Day 22, and 7 of 12 have hatched (the first one that pipped needed help - because it started to zip but stopped progressing), with another one pipped a little while ago. 

Don't despair. And like Sally says, DON'T RUSH THE HATCH!

And sadly Dax lost lots of chicks.

How was the weather on the other side of the country?

Yes, this one is homozygous NN, very few feathers on the neck (you can already tell) - a real plus!!! S/he hasn't quite levered him/herself out of the bottom part of the shell yet. Hatching is HARD....

The first one is totally fluffy and is running around terrorizing eggs and chicks alike.

I think the partially pipped/zipped one may have died (though perhaps it's resting) - we'll see.

Great news is all the pips so far are right side up! YAY!!!!

How was the weather on the other side of the country?

Foggy to start the day then sunny and about 68*. The hens are finally starting to lay. I sell eggs to the guys at work to defray the cost of feed so winter time is hard on the pocket book.

Sorry it's taking so long to report the Internet is super slow tonight I can literally watched the words form after I've typed the whole sentence.

How was your weather I hear it was record highs for temperature or did I hear wrong

its,a goose.and I have an adult gander.Roman tufted.I had a pair.but before they where old enough to breed or lay eggs.I found her dead in the co-op.died in her sleep.but yes it will have me as its buddy.if it hatches

What do you guys make of this? I've never seen her feather pick, or be pecked at, for that matter...yet, the bare spot is getting worse. The skin is clear- no lice or mites, not irritated...
