Glad Kristin answered! I havent a clue! and your welcome!!

The power supply for my bator fan @Sally Sunshine and everyone else. It had the second-highest output of any of the old chargers in the drawer. I was done wiring before I realized it wasn't the strongest I had.
5.0V output I hope the guys can help you with that stuff best I can do is take pics of mine!! unless I have it on the cabinet cooler thread hang on!!

so sorry, same thing happened when I tried it

Popping in here for a bit during dinner before I go back to work. Busy busy busy day.

@Ur-ur-ur-urrr , that is super impressive - I keep looking at it and wishing I could do that. I am still learning construction for chickens, and tend to make frustrating or ugly mistakes (at least they bug me - I don't think the chickens care...)

Fire, likewise impressed, and can't wait to see how it evolves and turns out. (Cute pups!)

Quote: I need to go to Walmart, STAT! Already ordered a mess of the horizontal nipples after you shared your waterer earlier.

The expiration dates should be on all the packages, so at least until that's up (possibly longer). When I did my stock-up run, I just bought the stuff with the longest out date - some in 2018, others in 2020. I may make another run later in the year for some stuff I didn't get (and to see if there are longer outdates). I'm mostly focused on making sure I have wormers.

My four remaining eggs are still unzipped, and the chirper stopped chirping. I candled, and while the large saddled air cells make it really hard to tell what's going on, there's one I'm pretty sure is dead, two I can't figure out, and the chirper definitely has an internal pip, but is not moving or responding to tapping, so could be dead. Air cell was fixed, so I put it on it's side internal pip up (thinking that might help, nothing to lose, really). Leaving all in the incubator until I'm home from work tomorrow, then I'm pulling the plug that evening, I think (not going to assist any that can't externally pip at this point). Tomorrow is day 24. The seven in the brooder seem to be doing well (from what I saw popping in to check on them from time to time). CLs were jumpy today (freaked out every time I came in, no good reason), and are back to sleeping under the Mama Heating Pad (it's not cold - but I did turn it down) - I think they needed reassurance tonight for some reason. Maybe it freaks them out to have the other chicks in the same room but a different brooder... Who knows - crazy chicks.

I spent most of today working on finishing up pinning down the bottom of the Naked Neck paddock fence, festooning it with overhead surveyor tape (against hawks - they also have some big fallen branches in there to hide amongst), and working on the new paddocks for the others - I am trying to set up at least two areas for each ranging group, so I can alternate and let the ground/vegetation recover, per my reading on paddock management. I also did lots and lots of weekend-type chicken chores (washed all waterers out with soap, topped off everyone's food after dumping out fines, some bedding and poop tray refresh (sweet PDZ). Ran to the feed store and TSC. Usual stuff. Worked on lectures in between, but not enough - I'm so tired, but I gotta finish those. So I'm going to do that now. Might pop in occasionally as a break, but otherwise, see you guys some time tomorrow!

Hi Phil!!

Hey Sally! What's happening?

not much, trying to get caught up on house stuffs and get my breathing better after a nasty cold! Whats new with you ?

Actually its been raining throughout day (Maryland) and now its foggy. I did use oven earlier for dinner so Im guessing a combination of everything? I have a sponge in the bottom should i remove it? It seemed to be the only way to get humidity consistent...
If you're having an issue with high humidity, a damp sponge is only going to add to the problem. A sponge had a lot of surface area, which results in a higher rate of evaporation. Removing the sponge should help reduce the rate of evaporation, lowering the RH...

Is this post still in question? I saw a picture of a computer fan posted earlier, and can't remember if you posted it or not. If so, most computer fans operate on 12V DC, and the P/S pictured is only 5.0V... less than half of what the fan is rated for. While it may spin, it will be extremely slow compared to what it should turning, which means far less airflow. If this is irrelevant, please disregard this message...

HOW I PERSONALLY SHIP EGGS AND THE REASONS BEHIND IT ALL ALWAYS REMEMBER YOU ARE THE CUSTOMER REQUEST HOW YOU WANT YOUR EGGS!!! This will become an article at some point, I didnt get images yet, but I will and add it.... I have been asked three times today for the same info so here it is unfinished but the words are there to explain the missing images.... The most important thing is no older than 2 days hatching eggs. When you get older than that the air cells and PH are different as is sizes/grades of air cells.
LL
grade AA is a fresh to two day air cell. The bigger the air cell the more it can wiggle and jiggle loose, air cells upright because of course gravity will want that air cell to head the opposite direction. Packing air cell up in a priority mail box so that the eggs remain upright! NEVER in a rectangle/long box like a shoe box that will be stacked all different ways. I get these free usps the small one is the inner box and the bigger is the outer which still falls under the 12x12 box size for lower shipping rates. If at all possible never ship more than 16 eggs in a box, the weight itself will damage the eggs. If someone orders 2 dozen its always best to ship separate despite extra costs. I always suggest this and so far everyone chooses to separate because of the expensive breeds they order. the stickers are to close the eggs up in the bubble wrap Here is where I am gonna throw in some of my Sally Sunshine :lau Most people will say leave the ends open on the bubble wrap the egg needs to breathe!!! NOTTTTTT roll that sucker up in there and use those stickers to keep it all in that plastic!
http://journals.cambridge.org/action/displayAbstract?fromPage=online&aid=618820"]
PLASTIC BAG EGG STORAGE!!!
Temporary heating before incubation and enclosing eggs in plastic bags during storage improves hatchability, especially when storage is prolonged. A high humidity during storage also improves hatchability, probably due to a reduction in water loss. The changes in albumen pH during storage are discussed in so far as they provide a possible explanation for relationships between environmental conditions during storage and hatching results.

SOOOOO in the smaller box, scrunch up a bit of bubble wrap to support the bottom of the eggs. place a plastic bag from the groc store open in the box over the bottom bubble wrap... place eggs bubble wrapped AIR CELL UP next to each other in the box, and shove more bubble wrap around to keep them tight from movement, you dont want any air space that the eggs can move, add more bubble wrap on top of the eggs and knot the plastic bag shut. add more bubble wrap or now you can use newspaper AFTER THE EGGS ARE CONTAINED IN THE PLASTIC BAG as the newspaper will only WICK OUT MOISTURE from the eggs!!! BIG MISTAKE to wrap in newspaper!! BE sure that inner box is solid and full with no room for movement, tape lid shut. in the bottom of the large box, open up a lightweight styro egg carton and lay it in the bottom, set your egg box on this egg carton cattycorner as seen above in the image. then tape lightweight egg cartons closed and cut in half and shove in each side to prevent movement, if you must you can add newspaper also. I find the inner box doesnt move much if at all in this position. as you can see, its protecting the inner eggs and its not letting those hits to the outer corners of the big box to damage the inside box. then open another styro egg carton and lay on top of the box and it should fit tightly and perfectly closed, tape the box well then on all four sides of the box in BLACK I put thick arrows pointing up...... marking the sides FRAGILE SYRUP IN GLASS (because what mail person wants to clean up that mess on a machine or in their truck?) The same goes on the top as well as DO NOT XRAY and then the shipping label and if they want held "PLEASE HOLD FOR PICK UP AND CALL 210-222-5565" the customers number they gave you if they want held. if you use ice or heat packs, see what I was saying about the air flow in the outer box? adding heat packs or ice packs this way doesnt harm the inner eggs but has a good space to keep them as you want them.
Great shipping instruction Sally, thank you :hugs

Did you ever put that 9200 in a box to try to stabilize the temps?
Does your thermo/hygro record highs & lows?
Did you try putting an ad on Craigslist for goose eggs so you don't have to be your gosling's only friend when it hatches?
NO,and I don't have.the money to.get goose.eggs right now.
