I've never had frostbite on hens either after Leghorns, Minorcas, Anconas, Buttercups and Penedesencas. But the roosters get frostbitten below the mid teens.See why I changed my username?![]()

Edit: I have managed to have chickens in -25 weather without my white leghorn hens getting even a touch of frostbite. Their combs were about 3 inches high..... I have good ventilation in my coop, so I don't have much of a problem. Pebbles dunked his wattles in the water bowl right before it got really, really cold! My fault for missing them, or I'd have wiped them off.
