HELP!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
HELP!!!!!!!!!!!!! I would really normally read through this stuff instead of ask, but im in a jamb here. I have the brinsea octagon 20 eco with automatic turner. First time hatcher here. I ran it for 2 days prior to getting my eggs. it said 99.5. good to go!  It came with a separate temp and humidity gadget to put inside along with the bulb thermometer. Ok! I get my eggs, very important eggs non the less. Get the bator up and running on Friday, it holds the 99.5 mark for 24 hours. I put in the eggs and it plummets to 97. ok, give it awhile to catch back up right? so I did. it went to 98.7 and would not get any higher. I adjusted the temp with the screw and it went up to 100.7. dang it. so I got it to 99.5. cool! then check and it keeps fluctuating. As the thing is turning on the automatic turner the thermometer is changing !!!!!!! what do I do, is this right? HELPPP!!!! I am on day 2. and im crying so hard. I do not want to mess these Sultan eggs up.

Fishnet,
Your temps are still safe, don't panic.
Monitor closely and make very small tweaks on temp to dial it in
Fluctuations may be caused by turner motor. I have not used an octagon, but others have experienced similar fluctuations.
98.5 is a bit low, 100.7 is a bit high, but not deadly.
Keep monitoring closely and if you do adjust, again, very small adjustments.
I run at 99-101 my fluctuations are a result of the delay in my thermostats turning on and off.
Patience, your still ok!

I need some fast urgent help! I started with 9 eggs and all have died but one. I think I have killed the one I have left. It is day 24 and I could hear chirping and moving around but no pipping.
So...I read many things and they said with the egg not doing any pipping that I needed to help it along.
So...I put a small hole in the egg and I immediately saw bright red blood so I stopped. I put the egg back in incubator with wet towel.
I can see that it's still breathing but that's all now. No chirping or trying to get out of egg.
I pray that I haven't killed it.
PLEASE someone tell me what I need to do! It's my only chick and this is the first time incubating.
I'm heart broken......

I love it when you torment me

I just noticed something odd that I can't wrap my head around with your incubator. No its not the pads. I noticed those the other and thought it was ingenious but opted not to go that route personally.

It appears as though your water wells are where the holes are. I have the holes in mine as well however they are on the raised part. How are you supposed to keep water in it if it has the holes. I might be looking at it wrong but that's how it appears.

The blue stones are in the water wells, the rest of the area has vent holes.

ok, I am seeing that when my automatic turner cradle turns the eco the temp is different than when it is straight up and down. the cradle rocks the eggs and as they rock the temperatures are changing. I ran the bator for a few days to make sure the temp on the glass bulb thermometer and the digital thermometer/humidity one were correct and stable. they were. i am letting it sit from 2 to 5 hours for any changes, and only after it has remained closed for the entire time.

Hey thanks to whom who answered the wiring question becuase I will be putting a fan in mine soon and I am glad that question is now answered! :D good night!

HELP!!!!
I just got some chicks from a person off of craigslist, and I discovered that one of the chicks has an extreme case of pasty butt. Does anyone know what I need to do to help it out?
