Sorry to interrupt with my random question - we're setting up our hova bator 1588 and it says to add tap water...I'm not a fan of the tap water in our area (poor quality in these parts) is plain, ok' bottled water ok?

Any other tips with this specific bator? It's been pretty simple so far...I got more eggs today from a local gal too AND sahwithchicks (more to come on that) I'm over the moon - SO EXCITED!!!!!!!

The water in the 'bator troughs is simply for humidity; I don't know of any reason not to use it. What's wrong with? Anything making it unsafe to drink?

I really love how helpful this site is - and it's great to get different ideas and opinions, like you mentioned.
I think I'm probably overwhelming myself by looking at TOO many options and then questioning myself. (Sigh...) lol
I'm sure "the wait" during the actual hatch will drive me BATTY hahaha...

I apply the KISS principle..."Keep It Simple, Stupid" (no reflection intended...

). Don't make it any harder than it is by overthinking.

I wouldn't recommend the tap water for long term drinking here...they have trouble regulating various things that get into it now and then and the town is supposed to have an overhaul done on the entire system at some point because of it. I don't know anyone that drinks the tap water here,..
