INCUBATING w/FRIENDS! w/Sally Sunshine Shipped Eggs No problem!

I never get to see who's laying what, but I'm definitely watching their poops a little closer since I spotted the puddle. Not TOO close, but you know what I mean...

I feed the layers Purina Layena Pellets, which has elevated calcium... and I keep oyster shell available at all times. The shells of the eggs being laid are quite thick, except for this one instance. It's the first brown egg I've gotten in almost 2 months. I didn't get a brown egg the next day, but did the day after... and it was fine.

I'm getting 4-5 eggs a day...all brown, or various shades thereof. Much more & I'll have to build 7 cabinet 'bators

Well lost another chicken so my husband made the executive decision to cull the remaining 6. Does anyone have any recommendations on what to use to douche out the coops?

Seriously though, I'd use diluted bleach or Oxine.

Give them eggs and leave them alone is all I do. If they're truly broody, they'll sit tight. Unless you mean, she gets off for a break and goes back to the wrong nest?

I'm just worried that she will get off the nest for good.

If she does, unfortunately there isn't anything you can do about that. Do you have an incubator?
