I assume that the temp near the water since it is several feet from the light is around 70. The one where the water is in the middle was on purpose set in the group since it was fresh and I wanted them to drink before I moved them to the big pen which is a dog pen.


I think they will do much better if you can get the temp in the majority of the brooder to 85 degrees and 90 around the lamp. 70 might be okay for chicks that haven't been stressed, but your chicks have something going on, so it's time to make their brooder warmer. Remember that an adult bird that's sick will do better in a cage or room that's 85 degrees.

@casportpony the thing is they are dying of the same symptoms in three different set ups. One of which had my four new LO chicks from a different hatchery. I hope my trust in a 'clean' hatchery does not kill them.


Can you post pictures of all your brooders? What symptoms are they showing?
