I just placed a chick order with Cackle :th

Hubby and I went to TSC this morning to pick up a few layers, and they were completely cleaned out. I was pretty bummed. Feeders and drinkers were full, lamps were on, but nobody was home (and they'd just gotten a new shipment in this morning, I called!). So, he told me to just place an online order and have them shipped :celebrate

EEs, black Sexlinks, brown Leghorns, Welsummers, Turkens and Cochins :woot

Our TSC gets a order in and they are typically gone by the time they close the door that night. I have been waiting on 2 shipments now but haven't got off work in time. Good deal on the order. I considered that but decided to keep hatching for now.

Celebrated our 25th anniversary in another bowling alley
I've definitely had some good times in bowling leagues; love the competition, and the friends I'd never have met otherwise. I may hang in there; haven't decided yet.

Sounds like it's a part of you. Stick around as long as you can and enjoy it.

I couldn't believe there wasn't anything there! I called at 9am, she said they'd gotten a new shipment today (could here them peeping), got there at 11am and there weren't even any bantams or ducklings left! Last year they were getting in new chicks when they still had the tubs full, and the employees looked like they could quite at any second because of the peeping (of course, last year I didn't need/want to buy any).

Oh, believe me, I'm still hatching too! Both of my incubators are tied up with Emu eggs for the next (almost) 2 months, so I can't hatch any chickens!

It's definitely a part of me. I quit the league I'd been in for 10 years when we moved up here. It was just too far to drive. Stayed out for a season, but couldn't figure out what to do on Sunday evenings; I'd spent the last 520 of them in the alley. Hooked up with a local team, and have pretty much bowled at least one league a week ever since, plus a few summer leagues and tournaments.

My daughter is bowling with a disabled group. Tuesday afternoons the alley is full of special needs kids and adults. It's pretty fun to watch. They set up her group with 2 lanes, they end up bowling both lanes. First lane, 3 balls, Second lane 3 balls, sit down. I love bowling with her on weekends because i can still request bumpers..... I grew up candlepin bowling. I never got the hang of full size pins/balls.

Wow. I thought ours went fast. There's no way I would be able to get any. Not sure I could handle a 2 month incubation. Best of luck on them. I don't have the room for Emu anyway. Well, actually. How much space do they require??

I'm a duckpin man; shorter pins, same ball, I think; never tried candlepins...don't have them here. Tried tenpins for a short while, but never could put any action on the ball; could hear the holes hit the lane on every revolution.

Duckpin bowling is a dying sport. Parts for the pin setters aren't made anymore, so they're pretty much all from other houses that have closed their doors. The sport originated in Baltimore, I believe (there's a picture of Babe Ruth in a Baltimore alley), and spread up into New England in its heyday, but was essentially confined to the northern half of the East coast. Used to be 3 or 4 duckpin houses in this area; I bowl in the only one left.

Time to head home. Catch back up with yall later tonight or in the morning. @kwhites634 Best of luck with your bowling. I will be expecting an update.
o.k....may be a sad story, though

Tonight didn't turn out too bad; I actually exceeded my average 2 out of 3 games
