So You Ship eggs?
droolin.gif
No, I can't ship out of state even if I wanted to (not NPIP). I don't want to run afoul of any laws in case there really is a disease outbreak (of anything).
Currently, I can hatch most every egg they lay and there is a big market here for locally hatched chicks.

Sapphires do not lay eggs as blue as real CCL's. The white leghorns have a bleaching gene that eliminates brown (turns green to blue), but also fades the blue quite a lot. I made "super blue egg layers", the same concept but with Ameraucanas instead of CCL's, and was somewhat disappointed in the egg color. They did lay well though, until they turned broody.

The light blue is not bad looking, just might be disappointing if you are expecting as blue as a real CCL or Ameraucana.
I am new to this and I e trying Ameruacana over RIR for green, ccl, ccl over Leghorn, a few OE,sfh, LO, and Welsummer. I want to see the birds eggs, production, personalities, hardiness, etc.
Then I can decide what I want to keep for color along with my RIR and Barred rocks that I know I like.
Sally's auto sexing blue laying Barred birds sound awesome, and I look forward to getting some when they are ready

I can't find my tent stakes right now, and I wanted something to hold down the bottom of fencing. I finally bought some pin (or is it nail?) stakes at Walmart for a dollar each. OMG those things are great! Now I need to get more!

Yes, there is that. My current cross is California Grey pullets with a black Ameraucana roo. Sexlinked blue egg layers (without the bleaching genes) with mostly pea combs for extra winter hardiness, and those Cali Greys are egg laying machines. I have over 120 due to hatch Friday and my first candling at day 6 was 100% accurate for screening out bad eggs.
do you sell eggs or chicks?

Morning everyone!

@LittleLakePhilhang in there my dad fought for ten years with a transplant in the middle. It was hard on him I am sure and while I was too young to appreciate the struggle, I was glad for the years.

I had issues getting my temp to stabilize after I put the eggs in but things look good now. My first candle will be tomorrow night. I set some last Thursday, Friday and Saturday. I'm praying I have a good hatch after I lost most of my birds to my neighbors dogs, just a few seramas left. Have a good day everyone!

Me loves a good fresh bananana

Then it is.

I just checked the bator plugs... AND THE AUTO TURNER WAS UNPLUGGED!! Something must have fallen on it.... And I didn't notice or check because they were so out of the way I thought nothing would happen.
I hope they are OK.... :hit I don't think it has been unplugged for more than a day or two....
*sigh*

I often forget to turn my turner back on after moving the trays. I think the longest they've been off was a day, hatched as usual. Hopefully all is well with yours now.

I have chicks to go torture... As soon as I check on their age....
Four weeks. I get to the lamp off for the day, and open a portal to the main coop. No one is in there unless they are laying, so there shouldn't be an issue.
