Howdy.....you all doing good this fine day?
I'm 5'10. My middle sister is 6'1 my baby sister is 6' even.
Toddler's are funny to watch. Monkey will run after the chickens with her arms stretched out wide roaring at them.I was eating outside with Duckling (she is loving being outside so much!) and hadn't realized that she still had her fork in hand when she ran after the ducks. I called her back, and she is chasing the ducks, fork raised like a sphere, yelling.![]()
Then she stopped yelling, and began to inspect her fork. I was surprised that the ducks went right up to her to see what she had for them. Don't get me wrong, they are used to toddlers, and Duckling gives everyone scratch. I have just never seen them approach her unless I was standing by her tossing out scratch.
She is now off to see the doctor. She was so happy. She giggled as she was put into the back of the car, and then slipped into the driver's seat. She has been outside playing since she woke. Ha ha! I feel so bad that she has to get a vaccination. She doesn't do well with them. I will see her after her visit with my M-I-L. Then I get to soothe her.I hate not being there.![]()
welcome, and good luck! Read a bunch.Hello,
I am a newbie from Utah. I am expecting chicks in the second week of April, and am currently building a coop, after getting interested and really investigating chickens I received an unexpected grant for my classroom (I teach sixth grade) and decided that I should use part of it for an incubator. I convinced my principal that it had multiple ties to my curriculum, and ordered a Brinsea 20 Advanced, and a candler. I have contacted the families in my school and have enough interest in homing the chicks that I want to set 12-18 eggs. I am reading all I can to try and make my first hatch a successful one. I am so excited!

Sapphires do not lay eggs as blue as real CCL's. The white leghorns have a bleaching gene that eliminates brown (turns green to blue), but also fades the blue quite a lot. I made "super blue egg layers", the same concept but with Ameraucanas instead of CCL's, and was somewhat disappointed in the egg color. They did lay well though, until they turned broody.
The light blue is not bad looking, just might be disappointing if you are expecting as blue as a real CCL or Ameraucana.
Just peachy. Yourself?
I feel ya. I went to a private school from 1st through 12th grade with mostly the same people. I was the third shortest in the class of the girls with one other girl the same height as I. I always thought I was really short at 5'4' and was shocked to find that on a growth chart I was at the bottom range of tall! I sure didn't feel tall when the average for the girls in my class was 5'9"
