Hmm... I just looked closer at the chicks now that there is more light... And one is significanly lighter than the rest, it is yellow with rusty tinges... They were "all pullets." Is this lil one a boy?

It is the lil one in the middle.

So I noticed that I put a Marans egg back in upside down when I set them 13 days ago. I had a hard time seeing into it to identify the air cell, so I put the end the breeder marked up. Today I had a hunch and checked the other end. I see veining. Hopefully I found it before too,much went wrong. Anybody else make this mistake?

I haven't had occasion to candle any of them yet, but I have eggs so oval that I can't tell top from bottom.
