@Sally Sunshine good grief, woman I am glad that I caught that! "Making monkey bread with a duckling " didn't give the actual recipe.

400

Apple Monkey Bread

Peel and core 2-3 apples. Cut them up, bigger chunks give more flavor in the bread. Chunks, not diced.

Two loaves of bread dough
1stick melted butter
2Tbs of cinnamon
1/2cup brown sugar
1 cup white sugar

Allow dough to double in size.

Mix together the cinnamon and sugars. A bowl is great, but a ziplock bag is neater.

Put the apples in a container with lid or in a Ziploc bag with 3 tablespoons of sugar and about a teaspoon of cinnamon.

Pull golfball sized chunks from the bread. Do this first to avoid sugar in your butter.

Pour or spoon out some apples in a well greased bundt pan. The juice is a good thing.

Begin dipping your dough into the butter and then tossing it into the cinnamon sugar. Use a fork if you want to stay clean. Add it into the bundt pan. Keep going until you are done. You will come close to using every speck of butter, but you should be able to make it. If you have to melt your butter, all the better! More syrup!

Add the remaining apples. You can add raisins too. Pour the remaining sugar on top.

Allow the bread to rise until the pan is three quarters full. If you had to stop one million times to deal with other things, it should already be ready for the oven.

Put in 375° oven. Bake for 35-45 minutes. Commonly forty. I recommend putting on a cookie sheet to catch drips.

Once done, it will be juicy! Turn out onto a platter with sides. Or, prepare for a mess.

Abi's notes:
If you don't add the apples, add an additional one quarter to half cup of butter. Without it, the monkey bread is good, but it is more like a big mound of donuts. Moist, but no syrup.
If you like nuts, add them to the pan first.

How the heck am I getting in trouble still 12 hours later? I have hardly said a word all day long so I would stop saying the wrong thing.
That does it! I want more coffee tomorrow! And I expect a side-by-side comparison of you and Stamos!

And I am sorry that I got you into trouble with someone.
CoChix, I didn't take it that you were offended this morning. I would have apologized myself had I realized that you were offended . Please feel free to private message me and I will explain my personal feelings.

I'm not sure you got me in trouble MC or that you are in trouble. I did mean that as a rebuttal in the form of an oxymoron. I didn't see their post until I got the email this evening (they always show up then), and only wanted to apologize and assure them I meant no offense. I might not be big in stature, but it takes a bigger man to own up to a mistake and try his best to fix it. I'm in no way upset with you, and will still be here in the morning
