How's everything in your world? How's the new roo working out?

He's been kinda stand-offish since I had to pop him a couple times for biting me when I was holding him. The last time he got to ride upside down by the legs. I see him chasing & watching out for his ladies, so he's earning his keep

Thank you for the info from hawk12, it really made me feel better

It looks like your chick will be ok from the pics. I would seperate her and put some bag balm on her wound or vitamin d ointment to keep it from getting infected. I would do that for a few days but then allow it to dry out and heal. Just make sure to keep it clean

Figured I would get my 14 day candle out of the way BEFORE my second beverage
First the bad news, all silkies were clears. I guess it is time to put the new Roo in charge and 'retire' my other one. Haven't had fertile silkie eggs since December.
Also found 3 definite early quitters, and have three others questionable (Easter eggers, really dark shells)

So my update is 3 leghorns, 4 Easter eggers, 5 Columbian rocks going strong at day 14, 2 leghorns & 1 CR still in bator, but not hopeful.

well the first one I had.the first two hatches didn't go so well.witch I found out it was a faulty thermometer.now I am getting 75_80% hatch rate.I also had two 100% hatches.if u want to chat with me and ask questions.U are more than welcome too pm me.and I will be happy to answer,and help

Sorry about the silkies, although it sounds like you know what you've got to do to fix it. Congrats on the ones that are still going strong!!!
