Perhaps the turkey or another hen is stealing eggs and putting them somewhere you haven't found.Something is stealing our eggs. We have a banty we decided to see if she could hatch some eggs, but they keep disappearing. One of our royal palm hens keeps trying to steal the nest from her I've noticed could she be eating them or do we have a snake? I haven't seen any tracks in the sand around the nest for a snake but I guess that doesn't mean we don't have one. I was thinking about putting a golf ball under her does golf balls fool snakes?
They can hatch early but not necessarily a whole day.Don't bantam eggs usually hatch a day early? I believe that's what I've been told. The Mille Fleur eggs will be on day 21 on Wednesday, so maybe Tuesday hatch...
And on another note, can I keep the full size chicks and bantam chicks in the same brooder?
You can brood them together. I see them mixed at TSC and feed stores all the time.
Once they start eating, they may go through the whole nest.Maybe I'm missing something here, but what would possess a snake to eat something that doesn't look, smell or give off body heat like a prey animal does?
Some are attracted by movement as well.Dear Wh. NOT all the snake are atracted to heat! The pit vipers and some pytons do, but the majority of them are attracted to smell molecules that the pray shade to the air or water and are collected by the forked tong of the snake and are transported to the Jacobson organ in the mouth roof to be identified. And belive me eggs have awonderful aroma that say "FOOD" if you are a snake!
I love snakes... But my mom and dad hate snakes so I'm gonna have to wait... This one I think is photoshopped but who knows, it'd be really pretty to have one like this
I'm very fond of snakes too.
