Got this info from another thread (feather and mountain man):

Banana Boat sunscrean works well. (APPLY TO COMBS AND RUB IN UNDER FEATHERS AVOID EYES BUT GETS ALL EXPOSED SKIN)

Plus vanilla either extract 1/2 water 1/2 mixture (YOU HAVE TO DRENCH THE CHICKENS FOR IT TO WORK) several times a day

or a vanilla perfume that I buy and the Dollar Generall store works well too. (DO NOT SPRAY IN EYES JUST FEATHERS) twice a day

You can also dust the chickens with a mixture of half baby powder and half seven dust

As an outdoor reppellant for living areas vanilla sented candles burning around your area works well too

Just wanted to share. The gnats are getting worse here but we are still fighting back.

I can't figure out how to post pics (I am on mobile so It should be easy). Thanks so much for the advise but would you say I am goo to wait till morning.
I think you have to switch it to Desktop version, but I'm not sure how to do that. I didn't have to make any changes for my cell to work, but I suppose each phone is different.

It'll be fine to wait until morning. Newly hatched chicks can go a day or two without food or water while they're digesting the yolk, but I like to get them started as soon as possible.

Are gnats attracted to bug zappers?

My BR roos turn 16 weeks old tomorrow, so it may get tested as soon as tomorrow. I'll be sure to let you know. If I had it to do over, and I may do it yet, I'd make a longer drum to cover more area at a time.

Hi! I see you found my pony...  ;)

Well whut???  :idunno

I, uh. Yes, your pony. More like a Clydesdale!
And you know what!

Going to slip out and take a shower while it's quiet. BBL!!!

Pictures, or it didn't happen!

Ok thanks for the advise and I understand why you want to start early just want to be safe. Keep in mind this is my first hatch so I am like so worried but I have a very fat chick like its quit funny. Unless it's an issue idk? :D

And CH I have to admit gosslings are the cutest I like turkey chicks though. :D

I am very frustrated. My great idea of getting a coop out of a dumpster hasn't turned out so well. I thought I found it on the internet but it isn't the right model. I cannot find a similar one on the Internet . My husband and I are trying to puzzle it together but it doesn't make sense. I hate puzzles. I am tripping a reverse image search on Google but I can't figure that out either. Really working my brain today. Guess it's good for the brain to puzzle things out.

Here are some of the pieces. I wish I knew a teenager who wanted to make some money.
I'd say the first pic is of the side panels (look like clean-out doors which should be at the bottom), the second pic is the back panel, and the third pic is the front panel (if that's a sliding pop door). The triangles are the gable ends that would go on top of whatever panels they fit, and there should be a couple of panels left for the roof. Just a guess...

I guess I could just deeply discribe the chicks. Don't worry I would not make you all suffer watching me try to describe a cotton ball on legs and with a beak. :D
