Is torture ever acceptable with spiders? 

YES. Especially the big, fast ones!!
In the barn, I have the kind that laugh at you when you try to smash 'em. Those get a good shot of fly spay (horse variety). Not a pleasant way to go for them but very effective ;-)
Hair spray is my go-to for the indoor ones. Slows them down so you don't miss them and they can't run under something and lurk.
Can you tell I hate spiders lol.

Should a mouse who is suffering from a terminal illness be able to end their own life and jump in the dogs water bowl?

Here's another one- should a cornered snake be able to end their life in a mousetrap??
This one was in my barn a few months ago:

Unfortunately, it was still alive so I had to go find my husband's hatchet and dispatch of it while my children looked on

Fortunately, I am not scared of snakes

Depends on who the mouse is. If it was my beloved pet, that seems a rather nasty way to go.

Hmmm.... Thinking about it, id say no, but I hate spiders so.... YES it is.

So is eating meat ethical?

Hrmm. Since I just finished eatin a chicken, yes, but I cringe about how those chickens were raised. Eventully I want to find another source...
Rabbits are a whole nother story though...

you know, I wish I could do the meat rabbit thing, I hunt and all that, but even out in the field I cant take a rabbit. I just have a soft spot for them. I had a rabbits foot as a kid and it sorta was the evil thing in edit dresser drawr

Hah, yeah, in my vewpoint it is why take 20+ lives to get the same amount of meat that you could be getting with one life. (Rabbit vs cow) ANDDDD I have pet rabbits which may be contributing to that decision.
