ok, it pippedyou scared me! how can it start to pip? either it pipped or it didnt!
What I meant by starting was it is starting to flake up, but no clear hole yet. Now 2. I'm going to head outside for a while. Being blue and all, they probably won't see the brooder til Sunday, anywayMakes perfect sense to me: starting to = in the process of. Must be in the process of before the event can be completed... unless it's a spontaneous event! My egglet is starting to pip: there is an internal pip, or I hear it cheeping, or tapping. My egglet has pipped: the shell has a crack, hole, or otherwise is fractured where the beak is working on it.![]()
sorry YAY go go chickies!!! you the man!!! go babies go!!! whoot whoot!!!ok, it pipped![]()
You should get some wonderful layers out of that mix. Love to hear about good success with home made bators. More details please? What you using for a box, thermostat, heat source? Fan???Thanks everyone for the welcome! @Bubbles12345 I have an update (sorry for the delay). I am male and live in Indianapolis age 31. I am on day 19 in my homemade incubator. Locked 12/13 eggs (alive at lockdown) one quit early. The eggs are from my flock of what RK called Rhode Island Red (Look like production reds to me. Very light color.) ladies approx. 8 months old and dad is an Easter Egger about 6 months old(supposed to be a pullet). Hatch is Sunday and I hope it's a good one. Will post pics! Have a great day everyone and thanks for the endless hours of entertainment!
Oh yeah, you should definitely drive to get them. As long as the roads are decent, and you're feeling up to it.My eggs are an hour and ten minutes drive away, I think I will go pick them up instead of her suggested shipping, that would be shhhtupid eh? its through Amish country anyways, if I dont hit a horse and buggy and make omlets I should be ok.
