This is what I did....

Take a drinking straw and a small rubber band. Cut a piece of the straw to the size between their feet. Feed the rubber band through the straw piece. Loop one end of the band to one leg and the other side to the other with the straw in between. It's helpful to have someone to help you with this. This way you aren't sticking anything to the silkies furry legs. The rubber bands should sit on the lower leg joint (closer to the feet) . I put mine in a little cup and it jumped right out and has been hobbling around for days. Good luck!!
