Between "I'm getting ducks" and " I have ducks" was about an hour. I got Duckling down for her nap, a brooder clean, heat lamp out, and was ready within the hour. I still have no idea where they will go. Probably the same place the chicks went. That's kind of funny. The duck room is the old chick room. The chicks sleep in the duck room, but hide in the chicken room where they were brooded.
Hmmm... I could either close the dividing door (Adult ducks out) or let the ducklings run loose with everyone else. It will depend on when I put them out.

Somebody is your son. Nobody is Monkey. Don't worry, she will start telling you when she talks more!!
Probably not cause snitches get stitches

Not being a carpenter by trade, I make my share (and someone else's) of mistakes when building anything, I can live with them, or fix them. I'm a perfectionist, ... remember the 16" firewood) so I usually fix them. I also wind up making way too many trips to Lowes for tools I own but can't find, or material I forgot or didn't know i needed ( aka CRS ). Add to that various interruptions, such as sleeping, eating, procrastinating, keeping the woodbox stocked, fixing ATV's & mowers, tending to DW's needs, and a lot of non-building time is consumed,

Were I to hatch out chicks before having proper housing for them beforehand, they'd be grown & hiding eggs all over 3 acres.

So now who's doing things backward? Huh?

I got my first 9 day old chicks with the thought I'd build a coop right away. They were big enough to start roosting on my daughter's trampoline cage at night and laying eggs around the yard before they actually got one.
