They look like they're in pretty good shape. A little soiling won't hurt anything. If it's dry, most bacteria should be dead. A light brushing is okay. If the air cells aren't detached, let them set at room temp for a few hours, then set them. My eggs arrived today, and the cells were a little wobbly, but not much... and no rollers! I'll be setting them later this evening.

That is fantastic! - they were packed so well! (I love the sticker on the side: "Shaking will scramble us!!!"

From whom did you get these again? Whoever it is, I'm impressed.

To the room..
On shipped eggs I thought you wanted ones not "cleaned" cause it can strip of that coating?
Still I woulda picked poop of myself but wanting info so I can learn to do this.
I'm sure someone else more experienced will also speak up on this, but as I understand it, it is generally not advised to clean eggs before setting not only because of the protective bloom but also because if you don't do it right, and the water is too cool, you can drive bacteria INTO the egg by washing. However, sometimes you really have to wash - in my case, I had a shipment that included quite a few broken eggs, and the intact ones were all coated with wet scrambled egg PLUS previously dried poop now soaked in wet scrambled egg. I followed Sally's links for egg washing instructions (I think they're somewhere in the Hatching 101 article, but if not, maybe someone can link to it if they know where it is... Chaos? ), used a dilute bleach solution made up as the instructions said, and made sure the water was between 95 and 115F the whole time (had to keep taking the temp and microwaving it) - I had 18 eggs to clean. I think the opinion being asked about the shipped eggs was whether there was too much poop/dirt on them...

So no one else has any guesses on the pullets huh? Oh well, I am no worse off.
@LittleLakePhil we could have used one of your snows here this winter, but we don't want one of those late storms now. Too many fruit trees are in bloom. Hope it warms up some for you soon, but that you get a spring.

I wouldn't be any help at guessing. Unless that is you wanted to go against what I say and have a decent chance of being right lol. I had some bantam EE's and wasn't 100% until one started crowing and the other started laying.

I am running in to the same problem! I would say that you should post the photos in the What breed or Gender thread....

https://www.backyardchickens.com/f/15/what-breed-or-gender-is-this

I have gotten lots of responses when I post there.

They really are pretty!! How old is your rooster/hen EE? If it hasn't started crowing or mounting the girls, do you have a problem keeping it until it does? Mine is a couple weeks older than yours (I think) and it's mounting anything that will stay still. He has been crowing for over 2 months. He is very much a rooster.

Good luck!!

Well, guess its kinda hard to be mistaken if you use that method.... :lau

I will admit if I am, I just try very hard to not be wrong. I fail lately though, can I blame it on being tired all the time though? lol

I candled 6 of them and they are all developing! Woooooo! EXPLODING WITH EXCITEMENT.
Awesome news!!!!! which breeds?

Okay just had a bad Deja Vu, except this is the first time it's ever happened on an internet forum...
I'm off again.

Thanks everyone for your help and valued opinions!
One more opinion: As porous as they are, you might want to wash your hands and / wear rubber gloves to handle them, just to eliminate another source of concern. That actually isn't a bad practice, anyway, not that I've ever done it, but I've only set my own, and had a decent hatch rate.

That and $5 might get you a small coffee at Starstruck's
