I'm trying to set up my incubator, I had a cheap Farm innovator, never used it, fired it up, got it temperature stabilised pretty easy, than decided after reading to add the fan and a Turner.

Now it seems the temperature is different all over the incubator depending on where the thermometer or probe is positioned, ranges from 99 to 101, 102 under the fan motor. It was recommended to add extensions to the sides but I'd rather not if I can avoid it, is it normal for it to do this? Should I remove the fan kit? Maybe position the eggs only in certain areas, 3 weeks before my eggs come.

Thanks for any advice, I usually use a chicken to do this but this year I wanted to give it a go.

Well I am beat. I worked 26 of thirty six hours, stopped at the store, have completed the outside chores and can go do the upstairs chicks. Then I can chat and have something to eat before I crash.

I hope so too......I have to take my wife into the hospital tomorrow..... She has been hiding her symptoms since her accident...... So if she's not better tomorrow she's going to let me take her into the walk in clinic. Today is I guess the first day she hasn't had a headache.

I candled geece eggs on day 6...no veining but big blob of someing in yolk...is it a bad egg??

its VERY VERY early to candle goosers!! let them go a few days yet

Surface area controls humidity, not depth- maybe try a small dish of water instead of the trenches?

Are my eggs okay?! So I set my incubator yesterday for school asked a few questions here the other day I said the temp was at about 99 so I went there early this morning and was going to increase the temp and when I opend the incubator it read 104! I'm not sure if this is too high and the eggs will be no good? They have only been in the incubator for not even 24 hours thanks! Just to add I did have the incubator set up 3 days before and the temp was consistently 99

see below, its not set near a heater or window is it?

I was going to increase the temp because that's what was suggested on here, but I ended up having to turn it down, I hope my eggs are alright!
