I was supposed to stay at my BF's place tonight, so I asked my dad to take the last of the babies out of the incubator, but to leave it running just in case for the last of the eggs (day 23-24). Last egg hatched about 3 am Thur morning, so I wasn't expecting much. Well, I ended up stuck at the office until 11 pm, BF was long in bed, so I came home. I was eating a late dinner when I hear chirping.....sure enough another egg hatched. It struggled to get out of the shell, and it MIGHT be spraddle legged. ButI'll look at it in the morning.

When we had lots of babies running around in there, it was too hard to count chicks, so we counted unhatched shells. I positive we had 4 unhatched shells when I left for work this morning. Well, I just counted. We have a new chick but STILL have 4 eggs.

I'm going to have to count all the babies in the other room!

Congrats! You were meant to be there for that chick. Let us know about the spraddle leg. Did you get any sleep?

My NN pullet Puppy does this intermittently. I get home from work and she walks right up to ask to be put back in. I found the first nest, never found the second (and she stopped). I'm sure I'll find a pile of rotten eggs when mowing the lawn one day. It's getting hotter, so I really am going to need to put water out for her if she's not smart enough to stop it.

OMG, OMG, OMG, OMG, I am SOOOOOO jealous. Fibros!!!!! Hmong!!!!! :drool

LOTS of photos when they hatch please!!!

(I may need to try to get hatching eggs from birdman55 next year!)

oh I plan on it. It's going to be a very nerve racking first hatch. Kris is a great guy and super generous, hes helped a lot of people on here and in his local community. Funny enough, the Hmong eggs I got from him, he got from chickens purchased about an hour away from me. We are several states apart. Lol. Small world.

Morning y'all. Been getting 6-8 eggs a day now that winter is over and spring has properly settled in. Been freezing them almost as soon as they come in. What does everyone else do with the eggs they don't plan on setting?

So for the duck with no eyes I wonder if you could take it to the vet a they could cut the eyelids open. Because it looks like it has eyes it just can't open them because the eyelid never got naturally cut. I wish you the best of luck with it.:hugs

Thank you! The other side doesn't look like it has an eye at all, the left side is questionable. We will see what happens. It is eating, drinking, and happy not to being trampled in an over crowded bin in TSC anymore.
