- Wow, that is CRAZY. I have to admit I freak out a little when I see all my other fish eating any dead ones in the tank, before I can fish them out. But, taking it to a vet? Seriously????.
True story. And he's a fisherman.

The bigger ones are easy but the mean ones are kinda funI didn't have a problem wringing a couple of cockerel's necks last weekend. I'm getting better at this culling business...![]()
Okay... that's completely insane. I own some pretty expensive saltwater fish, but I sure as heck am NOT going to take any of them to the vet to be euthanized. I am their vet...And he is a fisherman.
Also wanted to let you know the knife the dentist gave me is super sharp. Was using it for grafting the tomatoes set it on the paper towel and it cut the towel not poked cut. Will be using it for butcher day for sure.
I suppose it would make it easier if you heldThe bigger ones are easy but the mean ones are kinda fun(not in a make them suffer for it kinda way but in an I just ended you kinda way)![]()
Apoc, my 7-month old Naked Neck cockerel on "probation" for picking fights with other boys, launched a full on attack of both of my shins/boots this evening - kept coming at me, didn't stop until the fourth kick in the chest. My offense was daily changing of his water. Fortunately he has no spurs to speak of yet and I wear tough pants and boots to do my chicken chores. But I will have NO problem processing him next weekend...I didn't have a problem wringing a couple of cockerel's necks last weekend. I'm getting better at this culling business...![]()

Funny you should mention that. I used the same Exacto knife on the first cockerel that I used on the birds I processed, but it was way too messy. The other three I just twisted their heads 360. Much faster and a lot cleaner.
That'll show him who's boss! Either they learn their lesson quickly, or they leave quickly. There can be no in-between when it comes to who's at the top of the pecking order.Apoc, my 7-month old Naked Neck cockerel on "probation" for picking fights with other boys, launched a full on attack of both of my shins/boots this evening - kept coming at me, didn't stop until the fourth kick in the chest. I didn't use the killing cones for the last culls, since I didn't intend to eat these birds. I basically slit the first bird's throat and threw it in a covered tub. It took it awhile to stop floundering, so I made it a little easier on the next 3.Even going inside the throat to make the cut? I've not had it messy.
At east you're not reduced to using a cane. I've had to a couple times when the back played out...no fun at all.@kwhites634
Hey Whites!
Sorry I didn't get back to you earlier
I was at the doc about my ankle when you asked..
High ankle sprain, no breaks!
Using the boot when at home or driving. Major PITA when trying to accelerate or brake.
Got a 'soft brace' that I will have to wear for six to eight weeks, but at least it fits in shoes and my cowboy boots!
And more physio. My physio terrorist just smiled at me today when I walked in, didn't ask any questions, just read the docs referral, and then attempted to make me cry.
She almost succeeded.![]()
Sorry about the news on your sister. It is not easy when those close to us start to fade, been there. Not fun, or comfortable to experience, especially with a sibling.
