Wow, that must have been scary. I was surprised by that pic. I thought they were always black. Had to do a google search, and am glad I did! None here of course, but we sometimes visit in Fla. I've seen black ones there. Of course, any snake down there, I'd give it a wide berth. Any residual issues for your wife from that bite?I know moderators... and they're probably laughing their ***es off right now!!! You can take you spidey protection glasses off now... no more spiders. I'll be nice, so no need to go to France for a week. Things might still be a little tense over there.
Oh... have I shown you the cottonmouth that bit my wife? Wanna see? Huh? Do ya? Do ya????
I hear they eat chickens. And ducks, and turkeys, small dogs...these are cool! I need these instead of dragons!! Rav![]()
Sorry. IMO, he'd have died no matter what you did.So we lost Eggbert today. He was having pasty butt issues, and he was acting just fine yesterday, then this morning he came out to eat with the others, fell on his back and was paddling the air, couldn't get back up. His butt was clear this morning, but his stomach was rock hard, and dark colored. It looks like his navel wasn't all the way healed, and I'm pretty sure it got infected![]()
He was drinking just fine, and we were trying to give him some electrolytes, my husband wanted to start giving him antibiotics, but by the time he got home with it, he was too far gone. I feel so bad, because we could have prevented it if I had noticed it before moving to the brooder box. We have iodone...
Poor Eggbert, he was only 3 days old.
take for example your driving along the road and some askhole pulls out in front of you and gets you so riled up and all you want to do is holler, cuss and give him some parts of one hand, well here you sit with a boat load of kids in the car, possibly a wife, depending who you are, anyways..... instead of pullin that finger up, throwin all that crap from yer mouth...... pull that hand up and start wavin like h@ll and smillin with as much teeth showin as you can and get the whole family involved telling that their lady how happy you are that you could help her get to her drivers class in time. You would be surprised at how fast that will change your day real quick.![]()

Is the sponge sticking up out of the water? How big is the sponge? Be sure the bowl is set up so there's no way they can get in it. They're pretty mobile. I had one jump out of a 4" dish right after hatch.Does anyone have any advice on how to raise the humidity in a Genesis 1588? I have a bowl with a sponge in it and added another sponge. I pulled the plug and add water with a funnel and straw through that vent hole. I am having a heck of a time keeping it above 60% and have helped out 4 chicks now that had trouble after zipping. Everyone was all dried out.! So far out of 39 shipped eggs I pulled one clear, hatched 21 and have 1 more pip on day 22.
