Anyone remember Leeroy's birthday yesterday?
I didn't see any fireworks yesterday.

Anyone remember Leeroy's birthday yesterday?
Where have you been?

From whom?
Quote: Something just dawned on me. You bear a resemblance to my Chemistry teacher in H.S. He also liked to cook. One night he was heating oil in a skillet on the stove. The kitchen was right off the living room, where the TV was showing a program he'd gotten interested in. While his oil was heating he stood where he could see the TV. He became engrossed in the program & forgot the oil 'til he smelled it burning. He ran to the stove, grabbed the skillet as it burst into flames, & headed for the back door, intending to toss the skillet / oil into the yard. He tripped on the threshold; 1st or 2nd degree burns, as I recall, on his forearms. He was a bit of a klutz. Out of school for 3 days.
Klutz and chemistry? A very DANGEROUS combination!
Exactly, 'specially in his case. He was an accident, looking for a place to happen.
He was doing an experiment in class one day, making hydrogen, I think; maybe oxygen. He was combining zinc, sulphuric (sp) acid, and something else I don't remember (I was a terrible Chemistry student). The test was to strike a match & have the flame enlarge; the match went out! He doubled the "recipe"; the match went out. At that point he started grabbing beakers and adding "ingredients" without bothering to measure anything.
I was seated in the 2nd row, and when he struck the match this time I felt the air pressure suddenly change, and I ducked. KABOOM!!!
Shattered glass & acid everywhere. There he stood, ashen-faced, bleeding like a stuck hog. Evacuated the entire wing of the school. Another 3 days out of class.
Well look who's back from the dead! Howdy, girl.
