how does this work :idunno

They've lost their seasonal breeding drive...

Cold weather?

Isn't there something with guys and cold??? ;)

IMO, she's half a bubble off plum.  But, that's what makes the world go round.  If she's getting good hatches, who am I to argue with her.  But, unless she's getting 90 - 95% hatches, she's got no business telling the rest of the world how to hatch eggs.  Does she publish her hatch rates???  As for doing the float test before setting eggs, that's totally bogus IMO.  The float test tells you how big the air cell is.  Not if the egg is bad.  That's what candling is for.   You can candle eggs before incubation or at any time after you start.  Wet/dry bulb humidity measuring is definitely a way to go, and I think it's accurate. But, if you have a calibrated and accurate hygrometer, the wet bulb method is just an other learning curve that is not necessary.

Well said!!! :D

My ducks eggs are on day 5 and appear to all be infertile too. I guess all our drakes are slacking. Come on boys!!

Update: It's day 10 and I candled the eggs again. Lost 3 more, down to 23. Some of the air cells are pretty wonky but they're alive and kicking in there :) Sure hope they make it! I also have one that is cracked pretty bad on the outside but the membrane is still fully intact and that little guy is just as active as the rest so far. I'm giving him a chance. Gotta keep a close eye on him.
